Academic year 2019-2020 and Fall semester parking permits are now available online!

Staff & Faculty Permits

Full-time and benefits-eligible employees may choose to purchase a parking permit through pre-tax payroll deduction. This convenient payment method breaks the total permit cost into 24 payments and automatically renews each year until it is cancelled or changed. You may cancel your permit at any time, by emailing ParkingPermits@utah.edu,but arrears must be paid when reinstating payroll deduction. If you cancel your permit and want to reinstate it without paying arrears, you may purchase a cash permit. Employees may not have multiple permits on payroll deduction.

CA Permit

Lot 11 - Central Garage

Available to staff and faculty with at least 0.75 FTE and benefits. For exceptions, please call us.

"CA" permit is valid in:

  • Central Garage
  • "A" stalls.

Annual 2019-2020 Cost: $690.00. Expires 06/31/2020.

Payroll Deduction: $28.75 per pay period.

A Permit

Available to staff and faculty with at least 0.75 FTE and benefits. For exceptions, please call us.

"A" permit valid in:

  • "A" stalls
  • "U stalls. 

*"A" permit is not valid in garages.

Annual 2019-2020 Cost: $648.00. Expires 06/31/2020.

Payroll Deduction: $27.00 per pay period.

CU Permit

Lot 11 - Central Garage

"CU" permit is valid in:

  • Central Garage
  • "U" stalls.

Academic Year 2019-2020 Cost: $648.00. Expires 08/31/2020.
Payroll Deduction: $27.00 per pay period.

U Permit

Available to university affiliates.

"U" permit is valid in:

Payroll Deduction: $11.25 per pay period.

M Permit

Available to university affiliates who wish to park a motorcycle on campus.

If you have already purchased a permit, you may add your motorcycle license plate and park in designated motorcycle stalls at no additional cost. 

Motorcycles must be parked in designated motorcycle pads around campus. They can also be parked in regular vehicle stalls, provided the appropriate "A" or "U" permit is displayed. Motorcyclists who work at the Health Sciences Center may park in the garages but only in the crosshatched areas in the corners marked motorcycle parking, with the exception of visitor pay lots and patient parking lots.

D Permit

Consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act, selected parking spaces have been designated for drivers with disabilities. Parking stalls for disabled drivers are also located in the pay lots and the University Hospital garage and are reserved for visitors to the University and University Hospital. Visitor parking fees may apply in the pay lots.

Applicants for a "D" (Driver with disability) permit must obtain and display disabled parking authorization from the division of motor vehicles obtained from the state where their vehicle is registered.

Qualified students or employees may then purchase a “D” permit from Commuter Services giving them access to “D” parking spaces. “D” permits are valid for parking in “A" and “U” surface lots. If all ADA spaces are filled, “D” permits are also valid at parking meters for the time of the meter (36 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours). They are not valid in parking spaces reserved for health care patients or visitors unless the driver is visiting a health care facility as a patient or visitor.

State-issued disabled permits are valid only for campus visitors. Faculty, staff and students of the University community, are required to purchase an applicable parking permit in order to park on campus.

Annual price of a garage “D” permit is variable according to the garage ($630-$2166).
Payroll Deduction: $11.25 per pay period.

R Permit

Available to staff and faculty with at least 0.75 FTE and benefits.

Reserved stalls are marked with a number which allows only the stall owner to park there. Extended-hour reserved stalls are enforced from 6am to 10pm, Monday through Friday. Twelve-hour reserved stalls are enforced from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday.

May also park in "A" or "U," or stalls but only one vehicle is permitted to park on campus using the reserved permit. Other vehicles on campus at the same time must display the proper permit for the lot they are parking in during those hours when permit parking is enforced, or have a valid day pass.

Annual Cost:
$1,860.00 - 12 hour permit 
$2,238.00 - Garage (MR) and extended hour permit. Visit or call our office for more details.

$77.50 per pay period - 12 hour permit
$93.25 per pay period - Extended hour permit

T Permit

Lot 11 - Central Garage

"CA" permit valid in Central Garage plus "A" or "U" stalls.
"CU" permit valid in Central Garage plus "U" stalls.

Lot 38 - Northwest Garage

Permit valid in Northwest Garage plus "A" and "U" stalls. 

"A" permits valid on levels 2, 3, and 4 of the garage. 

Lot 45 - Ambulatory Care Garage

Permit valid in Ambulatory Care on level 4 plus "A" and "U" stalls. 

Lot 50- Visitor/Patient, North Garage

University of Utah Hospital patient parking only from 8:00am-2:00pm.

"A" and "U" permits valid from 2:00pm-6:00pm on levels 4 and 5 only.

Lot 51- Helipad Garage

Garage is controlled by University of Utah Hospital. Permits are issued through Commuter Services.

Permit valid in Helipad on level 4-5 plus "A" and "U" stalls. 

Lot 54 - Hospital West

Permit valid in Hospital West row 4 plus "A" and "U" stalls. 

Lot 55- College of Nursing Garage

Permit valid in College of Nursing on level 1-2 plus "A" and "U" stalls. 

Lot 56- West Garage

Permit valid in West Garage on level 1-5 plus "A" and "U" stalls.

Lot 60 - Hospital North (surface lot)

Permit valid in Hospital North plus "A" and "U" stalls. 

Lot 64- South Garage

Permit valid in South Garage on level 2-4 plus "A" and "U" stalls.

Lot 68- HCI Garage

Garage is controlled by Huntsman Cancer Institute. Permits are issued through Commuter Services.

Lot 70- Pharmacy (surface lot)

Permit valid in Pharmacy plus "A" and "U" and stalls.

Lot 81 - Shoreline Garage

Permit valid in Shoreline Garage on level 5 and 6 — plus "A" stalls located on level 2 and 3.

Permit is not valid on any SHU stalls on level 1 or GME Permit stalls on level 4.

$1,092.00 - "T" permit
